PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS
Research shows that kids who attend quality preschool may have higher math and reading skills, are better prepared for kindergarten, behave better in class, and are more likely to graduate from high school and attend college. Preschool is the start to your child’s school success.
TADPOLES PROGRAM – TODDLERS (18 Months)
Our new Tadpoles class is all about teaching our youngest students to socialize and interact with each other. We focus on helping the children become more independent and confident at school. We do this by having lots of hands-on learning through different sensory activities. We also work on skills that help them grow independently, such as hand washing, potty training, sharing with friends, eating, and picking up our toys. We provide a nurturing environment that will help your child grow and learn. The children will have a fun filled day with art activities, outdoor play, dramatic play, music and movement, and circle times.
DUCKLING PROGRAM – OLDER 2-YEAR OLDS
In our Duckling class, we learn through play and interaction. This promotes physical, sensory, cognitive, and emotional development. We provide many opportunities for the children to engage in various activities such as: sensory play, dramatic play, large block building, centers, science experiments, music and movement, story time and circle time. They also have three different outdoor play areas to engage in and explore. This class also continues to work on independence by teaching hand washing, potty training, and sharing with our friends.
BUMBLEBEE PROGRAM – YOUNG 3-YEAR OLDS
In the Bumblebee class, the children work on developing curiosity and wonder about the world around them. This is the age that we start working on problem solving, socializing, and interacting with peers, and practicing new skills. The students will learn colors, shapes and numbers through play, circle time and art projects. We build their large motor skills by trike riding, jumping, digging, and running. We learn to be more independent using the potty and start learning about our manners and hygiene. These are the years we build communication skills and learn about our feelings and the feelings of others.
BLOSSOM PROGRAM – OLDER 3-YEAR OLDS
Our Blossom class promotes learning through fun themes each month, while embracing the beginning of academic instruction. Themes throughout the year include Transportation, Dinosaurs and Community Helpers. Students also work on their first and last name, letter recognition, and the numbers. We help our three-year-olds learn through circle time, arts and crafts and songs. We continue to help them build relationships with their peers and work on the concept of taking turns and helping others. As they become more mature, we start to work with their small motor skills by using scissors, pencils, and markers. They also start sharing items from home to build their communication skills.
BUTTERFLY PROGRAM – 4-YEAR OLDS
Our Butterfly class is a time of rapid growth and development. It is a year to prepare for Kindergarten/TK and for future success in life. We help our Butterfly students achieve this by working on being independent, imaginative, and building a positive community with their peers. We continue to work through play and age-appropriate / developmentally-appropriate academic lessons.
SUNSHINE PROGRAM – TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN (TK)
Our TK classroom is a vibrant and dynamic environment that fosters excitement, curiosity, creativity, and self-expression among all students. Our mission is to inspire each child’s unique personality to engage in a variety of learning activities that promote growth and development. We employ a diverse range of individual and group projects, including directive drawing, weekly readers, homework folders, science experiments, movement activities, letter art, themed art, writing and creative centers, and dictation exercises. Throughout the day, we engage in circle time, which occurs three times a day, and involves various activities, such as vocabulary building, singing, finger plays, storytelling, calendar lessons, games, leader of the day, and letter and shape recognition. We encourage open discussions and dialogue throughout the year, creating a space where students can express their thoughts and ideas.
Our TK academic centers are well-equipped with exciting, themed toys and building activities, allowing students to explore and learn through play. We encourage socialization and independent work skills through turn-taking, sharing, and group work. We also offer a short rest time each day, which includes listening to stories and independent book reading, providing much-needed downtime for our students. At the end of each day, we engage in free play or work on completing any ongoing projects.
